Even in the afterlife, the world beyond death, good and evil exist.

Angels maintain order and manage souls, but they cannot intervene directly in the living world. The problem is that some demons take on human form and hide among the living.

To prevent this, an organization was created: the Order of Stigmata.

Clad in black priest vestments, they are the only beings from the afterlife permitted to descend to the living world. Always working in pairs, they track and eliminate demons. Humans live their lives without ever knowing of their existence.

For hundreds of years, the balance was maintained, but recently, the number of demons found in the living world has begun to increase rapidly. Furthermore, powerful demons thought to have vanished are reappearing, leaving behind the same message:

"The gate will soon open."

Cracks have begun to form in the boundary separating the afterlife and the living world. The Order of Stigmata begins to move to prevent the approaching catastrophe.
