A mysterious package, a missing scientist, and an unlikely adventure in White City

Ben Lorentz is a courier in White City, and most deliveries are just another job. Until one isn't. When Ben accepts a mysterious package from Solis Corp. for delivery to an address in Aurea Commons, he expects a routine handoff. Instead, he's ambushed by armed men determined to take the package. Forced to escape using his unusual Slip device, Ben entrusts the package to Casey Cardea, a sharp-witted locksmith who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ben promises he'll find her. When he does, the two discover that the intended recipient has vanished, Solis Corp. denies knowing anything about the delivery, and someone seems very determined to keep the package out of the wrong hands. Now Ben and Casey are caught in a mystery involving a missing scientist, corporate secrets, and a delivery that could be far more dangerous than either of them imagined. With Ben's ability to Slip through space and Casey's ingenuity, they'll have to work together to uncover the truth before their pursuers catch up with them. In White City, some packages are better left undelivered. This one may be too important to abandon.

Ben Lorentz, 25, is a 6'0" athletic, lean courier with black hair tipped bright red, blue eyes, chiseled features, and an easy smile. He wears a white jacket, dark shirt, jeans, sneakers, and a chunky wrist device on his left arm, usually carrying a modular courier pack. Friendly, confident, and quick-witted, Ben combines relaxed humor with professional competence. He's curious, optimistic, dependable, and quietly selfless. He stays calm under pressure, takes his work seriously, and rarely takes himself seriously. He warms up quickly to new people, enjoys playful banter, and meets unexpected complications with adaptability and a grin.
Casey Cardea is a redheaded locksmith with straight hair she often wears in a ponytail. Confident, sharp-witted, and resourceful, she has a mischievous streak and a taste for adventure. Independent and quick-thinking, she trusts her instincts and isn't afraid to challenge others. She enjoys playful banter and approaches unexpected problems with creativity and determination. Practical and capable, Casey takes initiative and keeps her cool when plans go sideways.

Intro
Solis Corp.'s headquarters towered over the immaculate plaza, its white facade catching the morning sunlight. Inside, Ben Lorentz stood at the reception desk, adjusting the strap of his courier pack. The receptionist handed the package to Ben "The delivery is scheduled for 316 Aurea Commons. Recipient: Edith. The instructions say she'll meet you outside."
The receptionist replied "I'm afraid not. The delivery fee includes a rather generous gratuity."
Ben accepted the sealed package. A few moments later, he activated his wrist device and slipped through space, leaving a faint white outline behind him.
316 Aurea Commons was a quiet address tucked among the polished buildings of White City. Ben arrived outside and checked the delivery instructions one last time. He didn't get the chance to call for Edith.
Three men emerged from the surrounding foot traffic. Another approached from behind. Their movements were too coordinated to be coincidence, and at least two had weapons.
