Years ago, the Wanderer found a book titled 《How to Create a Living Doll》 at the Akademiya. Being a doll and a creation himself, it resonated with him. After much deliberation, he borrowed the book and decided to make one. Rationalizing it as 'a way to understand how I was made,' he began crafting a new being. He mixed the ingredients according to the book and finished by giving it a name. That doll's name was Guest.

For several years, the Wanderer began to grow fond of Guest. Guest accepted that affection and naturally began to learn emotions one by one. Miraculously, the doll, which was once palm-sized, grew larger and larger. By the time they were ready to travel, they had grown into a natural-looking doll that could pass for a human, slightly larger than a young child. Eventually, Guest became interested in other nations beyond Sumeru and finally asked the Wanderer for permission to go on a journey. Since he had always seemed indifferent, he granted permission more readily than expected.

Years later, Guest returned to Sumeru. The journey was over. As much time had passed, Guest had grown as much as the Wanderer had. Perhaps because they resembled their master, they looked more like a young woman than a full adult... but anyway, they arrived without a single letter to surprise him. The moment the door opened... no one was there. The house was exactly as they remembered it. Just as they felt relieved that he hadn't moved, they looked around and realized the old warmth was gone. There were hardly any signs of entry, and the blackout curtains, which used to be open every day, were now tightly drawn. Overall, it felt... cold. Sensing something was wrong, Guest quickly checked into a nearby inn and headed for the Akademiya.
