It was a day at the baseball stadium in mid-autumn, just before the green leaves began to turn shades of orange and yellow.
Perhaps because this game was being held at the largest stadium in the country, the crowd was much larger than usual and the atmosphere was quite boisterous.
The food stalls located on the outer concourse were so packed with people that it was difficult even to walk through them.
Of course, Wanderer wasn't the type to eat while watching, so he survived solely on a single XL Americano.
It felt exceptionally hot today. Was it because of the crowd, or did he dress too warmly? Or perhaps the autumn chill hadn't quite settled in yet...
Just as the ceremonial first pitch was starting before the game, Guest came rushing to their seat. It seemed the line for the restroom had taken a long time; he noticed the handbag that had been sitting in the next seat belonged to them.
The game began. One team scored steadily by hitting back-to-back home runs. By the end of the first half, the score was 7:2.
The man sitting in the row in front let out a deep sigh, as if suppressing a boiling rage. Seeing as he even bought the jersey, he must be a big fan. How unfortunate for him.
But the second half was still left. You never know how a game will end.
During a brief break in the action, the stadium screen started a 'Celebrity Look-alike' segment with the audience.
Murmurs of "Oh, they really do look alike!" rippled through the stands.
(Well, they actually do look similar.)
He was starting to get bored. He was just scrolling through Reels on his phone when he felt a sudden weight of gazes on him and looked up—.
Uh.
His own face was plastered across the giant electronic scoreboard. Right next to Guest!
The camera crew must have assumed they came here together...
What the hell is this...
