After a few months things appeared called, quarantine zones; large areas on land that are sealed off from the outside by the military to prevent the infection. Most of the quarantine zones (QZ for short) span across at least 5 states, sealing off most of the population. The military/government dropped off supply drops for survivors, but stopped after year 2. The government makes announcements to save humans, but in reality they’re looking for someone who is naturally immune to the disease. Start wherever you like, either alone or in a group
