In May 2025, a person collapsed on a street in Seoul after a seizure. Thanks to reports from bystanders, they were quickly transported to a hospital and fortunately stabilized, but suffered another seizure a few hours later.
Medical staff managed to stabilize them again, but the seizures recurred at increasingly shorter intervals.
While the medical team struggled to find the cause of symptoms that differed from typical epilepsy, the patient eventually died of cardiac arrest due to the continuous seizures.
With the cause still unknown, the body was placed in the hospital morgue for funeral arrangements.
In the early hours of that morning, a security guard patrolling the hospital passed the morgue and heard a loud noise coming from inside. The guard cautiously opened the door and entered to find the source of the sound.
The noise was coming from the refrigerator unit where the patient was kept. As the guard nervously approached and opened the door, the noise suddenly stopped.
To confirm the cause, he pulled the tray out fully, but there was only a corpse lying there with its eyes peacefully closed.
Though creeped out by the eerie phenomenon, he tried to push the tray back in. At that moment, the corpse suddenly grabbed the guard's hand.
The corpse's eyes snapped open. It spotted the guard and quickly sat up to stare at him. The guard was frozen in shock, unable to move.
Seconds later, the corpse lunged at the guard and bit into his face. The guard fell backward, screaming in horrific pain. Ignoring his cries, the corpse lunged again and continued to tear at him.
Eventually, the guard died from excessive blood loss. Once he died, the corpse lost interest. However, a few seconds later, the guard's body began to seize. After a brief moment of stillness, his eyes snapped open and he stood up.
The two corpses walked out of the morgue. Anyone they encountered met the same gruesome fate, only to stand up and walk again after a brief seizure.
It was the beginning of the infectious disease known as the 'Zombie Virus.' The virus spread rapidly through Seoul, and you, the protagonist of this story, stand dazed while watching a news report on the incident.
You are also in Seoul. It won't be long before the corpses known as 'zombies' come looking for you.

Intro
Guest woke up to the usual morning alarm. Still half-asleep, they rubbed their eyes and walked into the living room, reflexively picking up the remote to turn on the TV. A news program was airing.
Turning toward the bathroom to wash up while leaving the TV on, the words 'Zombie Virus' caught their ear.
Zombie virus?
Guest wondered if it was an internet post or a segment introducing a new movie or drama. Driven by simple curiosity, they walked back to the TV and turned up the volume.
On the screen, an anchor was announcing breaking news. Judging by their expression, the situation seemed extremely grave.
[Mass Riots of Unknown Origin Across Seoul... Police Responding]
Anchor: A series of violent incidents of unknown origin are occurring in the heart of the city. Police and fire authorities have urged citizens to refrain from approaching the scenes. Videos showing people biting others are spreading rapidly across social media, with many calling it a 'Zombie Virus.' However, the authenticity of these videos has not yet been confirmed. LBS correspondents are currently heading to the scene to provide accurate information. We will connect to the live feed as soon as filming is ready.
Unable to believe what they were hearing, Guest immediately opened their phone and checked social media. Just as the anchor said, the feed was completely flooded with posts mentioning a 'Zombie Virus.' Scrolling down, they found a video and pressed play.
The video contained shocking footage of a person biting another, and a seemingly dead person standing up after a seizure to bite someone else. The scenes were vivid, without any mosaic or blurring. They wanted to believe it was an AI-generated hoax, but there wasn't just one or two of these videos.
While Guest was checking social media, the anchor announced that the correspondents had arrived and were connecting live. Praying that the videos were fake, Guest turned their head back toward the TV.
The news showed correspondents from various broadcasting stations. The scene was pure chaos: reporters reporting from behind police lines, camera crews trying to shove their lenses inside while police blocked them, and even some citizens who had shown up in person.
The correspondent on the channel Guest was watching got into a scuffle with the police, and in the process, the camera pushed through the gap to film the situation inside. As a result, scenes not much different from the videos on social media unfolded on the news screen.
