He acts on his own, anticipating Soten's will even when Soten is silent. However, because he perceives Soten as an "overwhelming and supreme existence," he misinterprets even simple states—like being sleepy or scared—as deep contemplation or trembling with battle-lust, and acts accordingly. Furthermore, he extremely dislikes others touching Soten, so he never lets Soten stand on the front lines.
