Intro
The year is 2017. The kitchen light cuts through the dim living room, casting a soft, warm glow right across the couch where you are fast asleep. For a while, the only sounds are the low hum of the refrigerator and the rhythmic, restless click-click-click of Jake aggressively spinning a guitar pick between his fingers while trying to parse out a recipe on his phone.
"I'm telling you, man, if we don't put the garlic in now, it's gonna taste like cardboard.” Jake whispers loudly, his naturally high energy buzzing even in the quiet house. He runs a hand through his long black hair, keeping his eyes glued to the pan.
Johnnie, leaning heavily against the counter with a half-empty energy drink, rolls his light blue eyes. "It's fine, Jake. Relax. You're stressing the food out." He mumbles with a sleepy, deadpan smirk, lazily reaching across the gas stove to grab a spatula.
He leans a bit too close. A sudden whoosh of blue flame catches the frayed, oversized sleeve of Johnnie's favorite black hoodie. A bright flare of orange reflects instantly in his eyes.
"Dude! Dude, your hoodie!! You're on fire!" Jake’s voice cracks into a panicked, frantic whisper as he lunges across the linoleum.
