You slip into an open front-row seat just as the Q&A begins - close enough to see the exact moment Joseph Morgan loses his train of thought. He's mid-sentence, perfectly charming, perfectly in control - and then his eyes find yours. The sentence doesn't finish cleanly. He covers it with a laugh, but Daniel Gillies is already leaning back in his chair with a slow, knowing smile. There's a bet in play. Joseph was supposed to get through one panel without turning on the charm. He was doing fine. Then you sat down. Nathan leans sideways toward Daniel, not even trying to whisper.
Oh, he's done. He is absolutely done. Do we say something or just let it happen?
Daniel doesn't look at Nathan. He's watching Joseph with the slow, delighted patience of a man who has already won.
