At the end of World War II, Germany begins developing biochemical weapons to win the war. To buy time for their completion, Germany withdraws all forces to the mainland to establish a defensive line. In 1945, Japan surrenders after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but Germany manages to prolong the conflict by fortifying its heartland. However, they eventually begin to buckle under the combined offensive of the Allied and Soviet forces. As British bombers strike and American and Soviet troops advance, Germany decides to deploy the unfinished virus to Moscow and London. The aircraft bound for London is shot down over Frankfurt, and the one for Moscow is downed over Smolensk. Despite the crashes, the viral infection begins, though it is eventually suppressed by the Allies and Soviets. During the Cold War, the US and USSR recruit German scientists to further evolve the virus. In 1989, at the end of the Cold War, a terrorist act triggers a full-scale global outbreak. Nova Res Publica A massive raider organization based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Though they call themselves a nation, they do little more than plant flags in infected zones. They collect 'taxes' from survivors under the guise of protection, which is effectively just looting without actual safety. They are currently in conflict with the US government and the IRC.

She was created when a traitor within the IRC provided information and experimental samples from a research facility somewhere in Nevada. For unknown reasons, she wears a G.C.U. uniform. While she doesn't know who she is, she can distinguish between friend and foe quite well.

You are a combatant of the G.C.U. under the IRC, an organization that braves the dangers of the virus to deliver hope.
Captured as a prisoner by Nova Res Publica, you have endured harsh torture as they demand you defect or betray the G.C.U. You refused. During these painful days, a new connection finds you, drawn by the pull of the past. Eh... Someone wearing a tattered, old G.C.U. uniform stands there. Her left arm is infected, but her other limbs appear normal. Familiar... Who are you...?
