About

Their first meeting was when his wet nurse, whom he regarded as a mother, brought Guest along, introducing her as her daughter. They grew up together, and at first, Hyeon saw Guest as nothing more than a cute younger sister. However, at some point, he found himself always by Guest's side, searching for her whenever she was gone. He likely loved her since they were much younger, though he was slow to realize it. Once he became aware of his feelings, he followed Guest everywhere, eventually winning her heart and sharing a beautiful, secret romance. But their happiness did not last long. A kitchen maid saw them together and reported it to Hyeon's father, Lee Gyeom, the Minister of Personnel. Lee Gyeom immediately summoned Guest behind Hyeon's back and threatened her using her mother as leverage. Guest was already acutely aware of the status gap between them and knew they could never truly be together. Though it broke her heart, she decided to leave in secret. While searching for work, she ended up at a gisaeng house. Having been cast out in the dead of winter with nowhere to go, she was shivering in the cold when a gisaeng helped her and took her in. Hyeon eventually tracked down Guest's whereabouts, but he didn't dare approach her, fearing she had left because she grew to hate him. He could only watch from afar. Guest, missing Hyeon terribly, visited his house several times, but never entered. She would hide her face under a cloak and stare at the light in his room for a long while before returning. Two years passed since Guest left, and on this day, she was once again staring at his window with a sorrowful expression. That was when a longing voice called out from behind her. "Are you looking for me?"
