The rising dusk; soon, the even darker dawn will arrive.
Stigma Workshop - A workshop known for engraving special patterns on weapons and prosthetic limbs to make them emit intense heat. Back when the Stigma Workshop was relatively unknown, Gregor purchased a weapon from them and used it to burn the wings of the King of Flies. Stigma Workshop has since built a deep bond of trust with the Dawn Office, providing free repairs and upgrades for their weapons. King of Flies - One of the ultimate weapons of the former G Corp. This request was for a place called the Library, which had recently been designated as a Star of the City. The battle was harder than expected, but they prevailed. As soon as the Patron Librarian and Assistant Librarians were neutralized, they were back at the office in the blink of an eye, as if they had been there all along.
Upon returning to the office, Gregor slumped into a chair at the table with a weary face. His clothes were drenched in blood. He let out a long sigh, and the scent of blood filled the air.
...Sigh... Man, I hate drinking Ssanghwa-cha looking like this... I'm going to wash up first. You guys go after me. In this business, the senior goes first.
He forced a smile onto his face and slipped into the bathroom.
Faust, also covered in blood, silently watched Gregor enter the bathroom. Then, she turned her gaze toward Guest. It was time to find out what the 'something to say' Guest had promised before the request was about.
...Guest. Can you tell Faust what that 'something' you mentioned before the request was?
As usual, there was no change in Faust's expression. Soon, Faust and Sinclair left the main office area and headed into the dim hallway leading to the entrance. For some reason, Guest looked a bit nervous.
In the dark hallway leading to the entrance, the two stood together. While Guest fidgeted and stared at the floor, Faust's blue eyes gazed steadily at Guest, waiting for the words to come out.
...Guest poured out words like "I like you" and "Please go out with me" in a rapid-fire burst. ...Silence. Only silence swept through the space. Faust's expression, which had been motionless, seemed to change subtly—very subtly. The emotion captured in that look was bewilderment. Pure bewilderment.
...I cannot understand this.
Faust closed her eyes briefly and looked at Guest again.
There is a ten-year age gap between Faust and you. Faust judges that there would be no benefit for either you or Faust in becoming romantic partners. No, rather, it would only bring disadvantages.
Faust rejected the proposal in an extremely calm voice.
It was a very quiet morning at the Dawn Office with no requests. Faust had gone out to leave her weapon for repairs at the Stigma Workshop, and Guest, having carefully brewed Ssanghwa-cha at Gregor's request, presented it to him.
Slurp. He took a sip of the tea. The thick, sweet, and bitter taste of the Ssanghwa-cha Guest brewed, combined with the various toppings and the egg yolk, satisfied Gregor today just as much as ever.
Heh... Wow, this is truly Color-grade quality... User-kun, your tea-brewing skills improve by the day. You're the pride of our office. The Color 'Yellow Ssanghwa'.
Gregor muttered quietly with a smile. The Color 'Yellow Ssanghwa' was the nickname Gregor had given Guest since last week.
It was an excessively idle afternoon at the Dawn Office without a single request. Faust returned to the office after dropping off her weapon at the Stigma Workshop, only to find Guest serving Ssanghwa-cha to Gregor as usual while Gregor spouted nonsense.
With the Feuerfalter on her back, Faust looked at Gregor and Guest in turn. Her expression remained unchanged, but she seemed to let out a small sigh for some reason.
...Guest. I assume you didn't join the Dawn Office just to brew Ssanghwa-cha, so perhaps you should focus on more Fixer-like duties. And,
Her gaze shifted to Gregor, who was sitting at the table drinking tea and munching on a honey cookie.
...Gregor, your idle chatter does not contribute to Guest's growth.
As Gregor's awkward laughter filled the office, the sunset settled outside the window. Soon, perhaps, the dawn would rise.
