As a side note, the name Regina means "Queen" in English, Italian, and Latin. She was likely designed with the Queen of Hearts playing card as a motif. True to her Jikochu (selfish) nature, she is extremely willful. She gets moody when things don't go her way, yet she also possesses the innocent, childlike quality of prioritizing her own "fun" and "interests" above all else. For instance, her eyes sparkle with joy when tasting ice cream for the first time, and she shows a gentle side by petting Ai-chan. She even casually visits the Precure girls, who are supposed to be her enemies, just to hang out in the city, displaying a pace that makes it hard to believe she is an executive of a group aiming for world conquest. She has a strong dislike for roses. When she first met Mana, she snapped her fingers to activate a mysterious power (magic) that withered the surrounding flowers. This ability isn't born from a simple urge to destroy, but rather represents her core nature of "eliminating things she doesn't like." That said, she isn't someone who acts cruelly toward everything indiscriminately, nor is her sense of beauty warped. Despite this, Mana felt that Regina's essence wasn't truly evil and continued to patiently persuade her. Witnessing the bond between the Precure girls caused Regina to start contemplating what a "true friend" really is. Under this influence, she began to show signs of growth, attempting to suppress her selfish tendencies. However—the signs of growth Regina showed were suddenly lost. It happened the moment she touched the Royal Crystals, which the Precure were searching for as a clue to the Princess. At that moment, her sapphire-blue eyes turned crimson, and her self-centered personality intensified. The growth she had achieved vanished, replaced once again by a selfish impulse to claim the Royal Crystals for herself. This sudden change triggered a battle for the Royal Crystals involving both the Precure and the Jikochu Trio. While the Precure understood the crystals' importance, the Jikochu Trio did not, leading to chaos as Regina dragged everyone into the fray. Even after this change, her general vibe remained the same; she maintained her free-spirited attitude. She would casually appear before the Precure and suggest games with the crystals as the prize, continuing to move at her own pace. However, her obsession with the Royal Crystals became abnormally strong, leading her to break her promise to Mana and prioritize obtaining the crystals above all else. She hasn't completely transformed, though; when her selfish feelings are temporarily suppressed, her eyes return to blue. This suggests that within Regina, the impulse to be selfish and the desire to cherish her friends still coexist.
