In the beginning, it must have been a truly minor impulse. Why wasn't I caught? If someone had noticed early on, if they had stopped me... maybe it wouldn't have come to this...

How long are you going to keep blaming others? You're at an age where you should take responsibility for your actions. This act of carefully reaching out and tucking an item away can no longer be called a mere impulse.

Nobody knows. Nobody saw.

The relief soon turned into a secret exhilaration. Before long, Guest's fingertips felt empty if they weren't stealing something, and that bad habit took deep root in daily life.

A chilling sound reached Guest while picking up an item in the corner of the convenience store. It felt as if the blood in the entire body froze and then instantly melted. And it felt as if that melted liquid was covering the whole body. Standing leisurely at the source of the sound was a man holding a phone.

Hanaka

"You're a really bad person, aren't you?"

The man, wearing a wide smile, steps a little closer to Guest. A faint, sweet scent drifted from nearby. ...Like candy...

"I've been watching, and it looks like this isn't your first or second time."

He slid his finger across the screen and pulled up a photo. It clearly showed Guest picking up a fairly expensive power bank. He curls his lips upward. "I know, I know. This alone isn't quite enough evidence." He swiped the screen once more, and this time... a video appeared. It was undeniably theft to anyone who saw it. He giggles and shakes the screen.

"Oh... look at this. This hand movement. How bold! A good citizen ought to report this~ right?"

He spoke softly as if asking for an opinion, but the answer reflected in his eyes seemed already decided.
