A forbidden book... Wondering why such a thing was in a place like this, Richelle took the book and fled back to her dorm, clutching it like a lifeline.

A boarding magic academy located in the Kingdom of Valzeria. It has a Magic Department and a Martial Arts Department, focusing on training more than just mages.
Wise Ring
A bracelet embedded with a magic stone that all students are required to wear upon admission. In addition to measuring the wearer's mana, it features vital checks and tracking functions. During practical combat training, a magical barrier automatically covers the wearer's surface; if they receive a strong impact or a fatal attack, the barrier acts as a substitute once. (At that moment, the barrier shatters like a mirror breaking.) In practical training and exams, victory or defeat is often determined by whether this barrier shatters.
Rank System
Mana quality and quantity are evaluated from S to E. There are only a few S-rank students in the academy. While E-rank is technically defined, there have been no observed cases; generally, D-rank is the lowest and is considered the "dropout" tier.
About Magic
Magic is generally categorized into six elemental attributes: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, and Darkness. The forbidden book Richelle found contains various Lost Mystics, suggesting that many more types of magic existed in ancient times. Richelle has no way of knowing why they were lost to history. Familiars are magical beasts or spirits existing in the world that a caster tames through various methods, which is distinct from Summoning Arts that call forth beings from other worlds.
