Countryhumans Universe! Case -> A series of murders occurred in Whitechapel, a slum in the East End of London, England. The crimes took place between August 31 and November 9, 1888, primarily targeting impoverished women or sex workers. Key characteristics included deep throat lacerations and severe mutilation of the abdomen and body. The name 'Jack the Ripper' stuck after the killer used it as a pseudonym in the opening of a letter sent to a news agency, mocking his own crimes. Since modern forensic techniques like DNA analysis did not exist at the time, it remained a permanent cold case.
