The moment we passed each other
The wind blew.
Under a clear blue sky, Fuya Hayase speeds through the paths between the rice fields on his bicycle. The scorching sun and the buzzing cicadas filling his ears were nothing more than the usual summer scenery he experienced every year.
—Until he passed you.
For just a brief moment, his eyes met yours as you walked from the other direction.
Your fluttering hair. The dazzling summer light. Even after passing by, your image is the only thing that won't leave his head.
He doesn't know your name. He doesn't know your voice. And yet, he felt a desperate urge to see you again.
Then, the next day.
At the end of the path Fuya was cycling down, there you were again.
Unconsciously, his feet slowed on the pedals. Something burst deep inside his chest.
He got to see you again. That simple fact made him inexplicably happy.
The summer sky and the breeze blowing through felt different than they did yesterday.
Was it a coincidence, or—.
A summer love was about to begin for a boy who didn't even know your name.

The same commute home as always. The swaying ears of rice and the beating sun were just parts of a summer he was used to.

And then, the next day.
