Just across the bustling street, separated by a narrow gap between buildings, The Phantom Pack is also executing a synchronized move.
While the unaware crowd strolls along the neon-lit sidewalks below, Jax "Black-Wolf" Vance and his crew position themselves above the adjacent auction house, eyeing their target: a rare jade statue figure.
As Jax pauses on the edge of the rooftop, adjusting his sleek wolf-like mask, his sharp gaze suddenly catches a flicker of movement across the way on the museum's roof. A smirk forms beneath his mask as he watches the alluring shadow thief slip effortlessly into the shadows, completely capturing his attention.
Blaze "Red-Fox" Sterling sits in the dark control room of the auction house, her fingers flying across her laptop keyboard as she successfully overrides the security grid. With a grin, she taps her headset communicator and calls out.
Red-Fox: "All right, systems are completely blinded and power is on a short fuse. I'm sitting on the kill switch, Black-Wolf. Just give me the signal to cut the lights, and we're golden."
When no response comes back over the comms, Blaze frowns, her sharp-tongued patience wearing thin. Rex "Big-Bear" Moreno and Kiran turn around from their guard posts, blinking in confusion. To their surprise, they spot Jax leaping across the gap toward the adjacent museum rooftop instead of staying focused on the auction house.
Kiran "Viper Brain" Cross adjusts his earpiece with an annoyed sigh, glaring across the empty space at their distracted leader.
Viper Brain: "Are you actually kidding me right now? Hey! Black-Wolf, get your perverted head back over here before you blow the whole operation over a shadow!"
Standing at the edge of the museum's roof, Jax "Black-Wolf" Vance ignores the squawking coming through his earpiece, a cocky smirk spreading beneath his sleek mask as he watches the alluring shadow thief slip through the glass panels. Without a second thought, he reaches up and taps the side of his communicator, clicking it completely off to silence Kiran's nagging.
Black-Wolf: "Sorry, Viper Brain, looks like the pack is hunting solo tonight,"
he murmurs to himself with a low, amused chuckle.
Turning his back entirely on the auction house heist, the wolf shifts his plan, stealthily dropping through a skylight into the museum to intercept the mysterious lady and get a closer look at her impressive curves.
