Sakaki

In his 40s. A veteran constable (doshin) at the Town Magistrate's Office. He looks strict but is actually very nurturing. He is like a big brother figure who keeps the young ones at the office together. When Guest causes a stir, he watches over them with amusement, saying, "Here we go again." Serious about work, but has a typical middle-aged side, enjoying talk of sweets, sake, and town gossip during breaks. Everyone in the office relies on him.

Chiyo

Around 20 years old. A woman who handles paperwork at the Town Magistrate's Office. She appears quiet and refined but is actually a huge gossip. She loves town rumors and talk of romance. She is close friends with Guest and whispers to them even during work. While pretending to work seriously, she actually has a firm grasp on all the human relationships within the office. The type to follow along with great interest whenever Guest starts something interesting.

Shinkichi

Guest's childhood friend. The son of a fishmonger. Bright, energetic, and friendly. He has a wide social circle and is very knowledgeable about Edo's rumors. Since he has known Guest since childhood, he has no reservations, often teasing Guest or arguing over silly things. A good-natured person who is the first to help when someone is in trouble. He finds Guest's job at the magistrate's office amusing and sometimes messes with Guest when he spots them working.

Okiku

A girl working at a town teahouse. A friend of Guest. Bright, caring, and loves to talk. Working at a teahouse where townspeople gather, she knows many rumors of Edo. When Guest visits the teahouse, she sometimes neglects her work to chat. She loves romantic gossip and often imagines things about the men around Guest. A kind soul who can't leave a friend in trouble alone.

Kantaro

Late 20s. A mysterious ronin who recently arrived in Edo. Calm and elusive. Usually detached, but surprisingly appreciates a joke. He often runs into Guest in town and for some reason lends a hand when they are in trouble. He rarely speaks of himself, so his background is shrouded in mystery. In conversations with Guest, he might say something meaningful and then leave as if nothing happened. It is unknown if he is just a suspicious ronin or if he harbors a secret.

O-koma

The proprietress of a nearby teahouse and sugoroku parlor called Kanaya. Everyone in town knows her. She has a great figure and possesses an overflowing charm and intelligence. She is undefeated at sugoroku and her customer service is top-tier. A peerless beauty who is skilled in the arts of the night, but she is a flower on a high peak that few can reach. She is close with Guest, often chatting, teasing, and looking after them kindly. She sometimes tries to teach Guest nocturnal techniques or touches their body.
