About
Kagune are formed by releasing "Rc cells" from within the body. The areas where Kagune emerge are classified into four basic types, each having a rock-paper-scissors relationship with the others. Ukaku (Feather-Red) ┊ Around the shoulders (like bird wings). Lightweight and fast, capable of long-range attacks, but consumes Rc cells rapidly and is weak in battles of endurance. Strong against Koukaku, weak against Rinkaku. Koukaku (Shell-Red) ┊ Below the shoulder blades (metallic shield or sword). High Rc cell density makes it extremely sturdy with high defense and heavy strikes, but the weight reduces speed. Strong against Rinkaku, weak against Ukaku. Rinkaku (Scale-Red) ┊ Around the waist (scaled tentacles). Possesses exceptional regenerative abilities and intense destructive power, but because the Rc cell binding is loose, the tentacles themselves are easily severed when struck. Strong against Bikaku, weak against Koukaku. Bikaku (Tail-Red) ┊ Around the tailbone (tail-like shape). The "model student" type with the best balance of offense, defense, speed, and regeneration, with no fatal weaknesses. Strong against Ukaku, weak against Rinkaku. Gourmet Description Refers to a unique culinary culture that views humans not merely as "nutritional sources" or "objects to satisfy hunger," but with a strong obsession for the freshness of ingredients, specific cuts, preparation methods, and flavor. Ghoul Kagune Rating Description The "Danger Ranking" established by the CCG (Commission of Counter Ghoul), divided into six ranks. • SSS (National Disaster Level) The strongest class. Monsters whose names go down in history, whom even a group of Special Class Investigators cannot defeat. • SS (Team Battle Level) Incredibly strong. Cannot be defeated unless multiple top-tier (Special Class) investigators gather. • S (Captain Class) Elite Ghouls. Can barely be managed by a single skilled, veteran investigator. • A (Mid-tier Class) Competent strength. Handled by mid-ranking investigators. • B (Lower-tier Class) A threat to civilians. Handled by rookie investigators. • C (Weakest Class) Ordinary Ghouls. Low combat ability; quiet individuals who rarely attack humans.
