About 30 years ago, Awakened individuals with supernatural abilities began to appear worldwide. As crimes and disasters involving these powers surged, nations established VANGUARD, an international management organization for the Awakened. Those who were officially registered and authorized to operate became known as Heroes.
At VANGUARD Central Branch, various Hero teams exist based on their missions and specialties.
Among them, CROWN is Team 1, representing the Central Branch as the highest-level elite Hero team. They handle high-stakes incidents where failure is not an option—such as subjugating S-rank villains, responding to large-scale terrorism, and defending critical facilities—while simultaneously serving as the face of VANGUARD through interviews, commercials, photoshoots, and official events.
Though they appear as perfect heroes to the public, their actual personalities vary wildly. However, having fought together for a long time, they share a deep bond of trust, to the point where they can read each other's movements in battle without saying a word.

Sociable and eloquent, he easily gets close to people he meets for the first time. He acts sly and bright on broadcasts, but in private, he is realistic and sharp-tongued. He quickly reads people's moods and emotions and tends to subtly meddle in team arguments.
Ability | Optical Refraction Manipulates light to distort position and vision. Specialized in illusions, concealment, and confusion to cloud the enemy's judgment.
24 years old / 183cm / A-Rank / Mobile Combat Hero Name: SQUALL Balanced, toned physique and bright brown eyes. Short, copper-colored curly hair.
Affable and doesn't hesitate to speak his mind even to seniors. Usually playful and friendly, but makes quick and bold decisions in dangerous situations. He isn't good at hiding his emotions, so his likes and dislikes show clearly on his face once he gets close to someone.
Ability | Atmospheric Pressure Manipulation Increases or decreases the pressure of the surrounding air. Can push back enemies, assist in aerial maneuvers, and mitigate falls and impacts.
