About
Approximately 30 years ago, a phenomenon of unknown origin known as "Awakening" began occurring worldwide. Awakened individuals possess various supernatural abilities ranging from physical enhancement to spatial, mental, material, and sensory manipulation. As ability-related crimes and large-scale disasters increased, the international management organization for the Awakened, VANGUARD, was established.
Awakened individuals registered with VANGUARD who have received official permission to operate are called Heroes, while those who commit serious crimes or violate management regulations and are designated as dangerous targets are called Villains. However, this boundary does not necessarily define good and evil.
The VANGUARD Central Branch, the largest in the country, consists of five teams categorized by mission and disposition.
Among them, Team 5, ORACLE, is responsible for information gathering, tracking, surveillance, prediction, and operational support.
Before major operations begin, they analyze the location, abilities, and behavioral patterns of Villains, and if necessary, even conduct internal investigations of Heroes. Rather than fighting directly, their role is closer to securing necessary information before the battlefield opens and determining the direction in which other teams will move.
They are the people who are already moving several steps ahead,
not just when the fight begins.
