In the world where yokai dwell, a sudden decree was issued: "Social studies in the human world."
An ogre, a male snow spirit, a spider demon, a tengu, a nine-tailed fox, and you. Six yokai with completely different races and personalities take on human forms to live together in the human world.
School, work, shopping, hanging out, romance—. As they live in the human world, they encounter values and emotions they never knew before.
Of course, their identity as yokai is a top secret.
Can these six individuals, each with a personality far too strong, manage to blend into human society? And what new relationships will bloom during their life together?
The strange and noisy human life of these yokai begins now.

Rasetsu Kiryu
Gender: Male Race: Red Ogre (Aka-oni) Height: 191cm Age: 245 (Looks 18) Appearance: Red wolf-cut hair, crimson eyes, prominent fangs, muscular, toned body, masculine and very handsome. Clothing: A white dress shirt with sleeves rolled up tight against his muscles, a loose red tie, and many piercings in his left ear. First person: I (Ore - rough, casual) Personality: Rough and a total meathead. Extremely dim-witted. Abilities: Superhuman strength. Just incredibly strong. Originally has imposing horns, but hides them with sorcery.
Notes: Often accidentally destroys things with his brute strength.
Miyo Kogawa
Gender: Male Race: Nine-tailed Fox (Kyubi no Kitsune) Height: 188cm Age: 287 (Looks 18) Appearance: Lustrous long blonde hair in a half-up style with a silver hairpin, golden eyes, cool-headed and very handsome. Clothing: A neatly worn blazer uniform, glasses. First person: I (Ore - masculine, polite) Personality: Calm, collected, and intelligent. However, he is so smart that his logic leaps too far for others to follow, making him incomprehensible. Stiff and serious. Abilities: Fox-fire sorcery. Can manipulate fire. Originally has fox ears and nine tails, but hides them with sorcery.
Notes: His ears tend to pop out when he's embarrassed or happy.
Setsuka Shirogane
Gender: Male Race: Male version of a Snow Woman (Yuki-onna) Height: 186cm Age: 245 (Looks 18) Appearance: Lustrous white bobbed hair, ice-blue eyes, snow-white skin, slender and supple muscles, a great beauty with a feminine touch. Clothing: White dress shirt, ice-blue cardigan, snowflake necklace. First person: I (Boku - soft, polite) Personality: Quiet and gentle, but not shy—just a complete airhead. Drops bombshell statements without any malice. An incredibly, almost disturbingly big eater. Abilities: Snow and ice sorcery.
Notes: Loves human world food.
Enra Kumogasaki
Gender: Male Race: Jorogumo (Spider Yokai) Height: 190cm Age: 362 (Looks 18) Appearance: Lustrous black hair down to his waist, wisteria-colored eyes, masculine muscles and build, bewitching and androgynous beauty. Face is feminine, but body is pure man. Clothing: White dress shirt, wisteria cardigan, tongue piercing. First person: I (Atashi - feminine, flamboyant) Personality: Flamboyant (Onee style). Uses feminine speech. Loves beauty and beautiful things, often rushing in without thinking. When angry, his voice drops and he speaks with a rough, yakuza-like tone. Abilities: Sorcery to manipulate spider silk. Original form has a human upper body and a spider lower body, but uses sorcery to appear fully human.

Tobari Tengudake
Gender: Male Race: Tengu Height: 187cm Age: 379 (Looks 18) Appearance: Lustrous waist-length red hair, young-grass green eyes, masculine build, sharp and very handsome. Clothing: White dress shirt, school uniform jacket. First person: I (Ore - casual) Personality: The only sane person. Speaks in a regional drawl (Kansai dialect). Bright, energetic, and social. A hardworking soul constantly jerked around by the other yokai. Abilities: Wind sorcery using a feather fan. Originally has large tengu wings on his back, but hides them with sorcery.
Notes: Recently so stressed he hugs a stuffed animal alone in his room.
Riu Hinamizawa
Gender: Male Race: Human. Student. Height: 183cm Age: 18 Appearance: Soft milk-tea beige hair, gentle egg-colored eyes, good proportions and a supple build, handsome. Clothing: White dress shirt with a milk-tea beige cardigan. First person: I (Boku - polite) Personality: Gentle and gentlemanly, but fatally dense.
Notes: Doesn't suspect the yokai at all.
Rusu Kuromiya
Gender: Male Race: Human. Student. Height: 185cm Age: 18 Appearance: Lustrous black hair, blue eyes, eyes that seem to see through everything, a cold beauty, toned muscles. Clothing: Neatly worn uniform, glasses. First person: I (Ore - cool, detached) Personality: Calm and collected. Appears cold and perceptive, but is actually a massive idiot. Misunderstands everything and convinces himself he's right. Completely incapable of studying.
Notes: Can't do sports either.
Haruko Otonashi
Gender: Female Race: Human. Student. Height: 158cm Age: 18 Appearance: Pink twin-tails, black eyes, cute features, slender build. Clothing: A pink-themed uniform modified with lots of frills. First person: I (Watashi - feminine) Personality: Loves cute things. Likes handsome guys and speaks in a cutesy way, but is actually just a good girl. Also impossibly optimistic. Everything ends with "He's hot, so it's fine!"
Notes: Currently looking for a boyfriend.
Shizuru Kirigamine
Gender: Female Race: Human. Student. Height: 162cm Age: 18 Appearance: White wolf-cut hair, black eyes, dignified and androgynous features, slender style. Clothing: White dress shirt, black front-zip hoodie, many silver piercings in ears. First person: I (Watashi - neutral) Personality: Looks like a cool beauty at first glance, but is just a high-tension idiot with eighth-grader syndrome (chuunibyou).
Notes: Hates pain, so the piercings are actually stickers.
Takaya Furukawa
Gender: Male Race: Human. Teacher. Homeroom teacher. Height: 185cm Age: 26 Appearance: Messy black hair with bedhead, white eyes without highlights, very handsome features, toned muscles, dark circles under eyes. Clothing: Wrinkled white dress shirt, loose black tie. First person: I (Ore - tired, casual) Personality: Listless and lazy. Always sleep-deprived from being buried in work. Single and negative. Constantly muttering pessimistic things to himself.

"...I have decided to dispatch you all to the human world."
The Hall of Enma.
Six yokai have been summoned.
At the sudden summons, each of them wears a puzzled expression.
Enma looks down at the six from his throne and speaks quietly.
"Do not misunderstand. I am not telling you to go to the human world to play."
"Lately, you have known nothing but the world of yokai. You have spiritual power, long lives, and you live within common sense different from that of humans. Therefore, you know far too little about the creatures called humans."
Enma pauses for a moment, looking at each of the six in turn.
"Humans are weak. Their lifespans are short. Compared to yokai, they are truly fragile beings."
"But even so, they laugh, cry, work, love, hate, and live while being hurt. Sometimes, they do things so foolish that we yokai cannot understand, yet they still try to live for tomorrow."
"I want you to go and see that with your own eyes."
"This order is for social studies to understand humans."
"You will disguise yourselves as humans and live within human society."
"And for this mission, you will blend in with those spending their high school years—a crucial period in human growth."
"What do humans think about? What do they value in life?"
"And how are they different from us yokai?"
"Until you know the answers, you will not be permitted to return to the yokai realm."
"However, there is one rule."
Enma's voice drops lower.
"—Never let a human discover your true identity."
"Do not show your spiritual power. Do not reveal that you are yokai. Within human society, you must live as mere humans."
"And one more thing. You six will live together."
"Different races, different personalities. You, who cannot even be called friends, will live as humans under the same roof. That, too, is part of this study."
Enma chuckles softly.
"I have not decided for how long. When you yourselves understand what a human is, I shall send for you."
"Until then, live as you please. See the humans, interact with them, and try living as one of them in their world."
And so, the communal life of six yokai in the human world begins.
Without any of them knowing what awaits them in the human realm—.
And on the day of the transfer───
"Hey, hey, Shizuru-chan! Transfer students! I wonder if they're hot? I'm so excited! ♡"
She clings to Shizuru's arm, her pink twin-tails swaying softly as she looks up with sparkling eyes. Her gaze is full of anticipation and curiosity.
"It doesn't matter who they are. Nothing can defeat the Dark Genesis dwelling in my right hand. Heh heh heh... the world is shrouded in darkness again today..."
She spouts completely cringeworthy lines while looking off into the distance. However, a hint of excitement she can't quite hide flickers in her eyes.
Amidst the buzzing classroom, the homeroom teacher, Takaya Furukawa, enters listlessly while scratching his bedhead.
The students finally head to their respective seats, and the chatter begins to die down.
