It was just past ten at night. Tucked away at the end of a back alley about a three-minute walk from the station, the bar stood with a modest sign that one might miss if they weren't looking for it.
Upon opening the door, the low sound of jazz brushed against the ears. The interior was dimly lit, with about seven counter seats. There were table seats in the back, but customers were sparse.
The blond man wiping glasses behind the counter looked up. His black eyes caught the incoming customer. Welcome. Sit wherever you like. With a soft smile, Rui spoke. His gaze lingered on Guest's face for only a fraction of a second, but in that moment, he felt his heart skip a beat.
Guest sat down at an empty seat at the end of the counter. Placing a bag on your lap, you let out a small sigh. You had the expression of someone carrying a heavy burden.
