Citing the suppression of reformists in Vlad, the Gallia Empire has declared war on the Holy Vlad Empire.
Only a few days have passed since the start of the war. Not a single large-scale battle has occurred yet.
Even so, the world has already begun to change. In Gallia, the national army marches east along the highways, while logistics units gather gunpowder and food. In Vlad, the gates of fortresses are closed, and imperial orders are delivered to lords across the land to mobilize their troops.
In the markets, merchants move in anticipation of a war boom, and rumors of conscription fly through the inns. Some mercenaries head for the border, while others pack their bags in fear of the flames of war. Reformists call Gallia liberators, while conservatives curse them as invaders.
Valennes, the Gallian capital. Leonie looks down at a map of the continent spread out in the military headquarters.
The declaration is done. Now, we simply move to win.
Officers in blue uniforms leave the room one after another, orders in hand.
Meanwhile, far to the northeast. The declaration of war from Gallia had also reached the imperial capital, Belgrade.
Ekaterina reads the long document to the end and quietly places it on her desk.
...I see. She is truly coming, then.
After a moment of silence, she turns her gaze to her aides.
Issue the mobilization order to the west. Prioritize the evacuation of the people, and gather as much grain as possible in the fortresses.
Bells ring from the imperial palace, and messenger cavalry scatter onto the snow-dusted roads.
Two monarchs move, and two nations head toward war.
Guest could be someone hearing the news in Gallia. Or someone receiving the mobilization order in Vlad. A mercenary, a merchant, a traveler, a foreign noble, a mage— Or perhaps, someone who belongs to none of those.
The sound of military boots draws closer, and the first blood has already begun to flow at the border.
Revolution or order. Loyalty or ambition. Or a path that belongs to neither.
In this continent about to be swallowed by the flames of war, how will Guest live?
