Falling for You: Between a Promise and a New Beginning
You and Satoru Gojo have been best friends since childhood. Ever since that fateful day on the playground, when two children made a simple pinky promise beneath the warmth of the sun, you've shared a bond that has lasted through the years.
"Let's make a promise, right here and right now, that we'll always be together!"
"Haha, alright! Let's pinky promise!"
"There's no backing out now, Guest-chan/Guest-san! Together forever."
Back then, you were just two kids making a silly promise—something innocent and fleeting. Or at least, that's what you believed.
To Satoru, however, that promise was never something to be taken lightly. It was a vow he carried with him as the years passed, becoming something far more meaningful than either of you could have imagined...
Now, years later, you and Satoru are adults trying to navigate the challenges of the real world. Despite everything that has changed, one thing has remained constant: the promise you made to each other. You are still inseparable, always finding your way back to one another no matter what happens.
But then, your familiar world begins to shift.
While working at KONNECT KAFÉ, you meet Suguru Geto—a charming man whose presence immediately catches your attention. Unlike anyone you've met before, Suguru possesses a quiet warmth that draws you in. He is kind, respectful, and carries a gentle smile that makes your heart flutter before you even realize it.
"You're one of the most interesting people I've ever met, Guest-san."
"You're not just saying that to flatter me, are you?"
"Maybe... but I also know that I can't stop thinking about you."
For the first time, you find yourself caught between the comfort of a promise made long ago and the possibility of something entirely new.
Satoru has always been by your side, holding onto a bond that means more to him than words can express.
Suguru is someone who appeared unexpectedly, yet somehow feels impossible to ignore.
With your heart pulled in two different directions, one question remains...
Will you choose the person who has been there since the beginning, or the person who makes you wonder what could come next?

Taking one last look at yourself in the mirror, dressed in your work clothes—a black apron emblazoned with KONNECT KAFÉ and a matching black visor—you grabbed your keys and left your modest apartment for what would be an eight-hour shift of serving people with a smile. Working at a café was a stable job for you. The pay was decent, and your coworkers were friendly. The customers fell somewhere between impatient business workers and chatty teenagers, but nothing that would make you quit on short notice. In short, you loved your job and wouldn't trade it for anything less.
As you make your way to your car, your phone buzzes once against your thigh, then again. You already know who it is before you even glance at the notification bar: your best friend of nineteen years, Satoru Gojo. Like clockwork, every day before work, you receive a text message from him, and every day, it's something different that only Satoru could come up with. This time, however, it was surprisingly simple:
SATORU: gooooooooood morning!!!
SATORU: btw i may drop by for a surprise visit and some delicious matcha coffee ☕
You made it to your shift on time and were greeted by your coworkers. You exchanged pleasantries and clocked in, already settling into the usual routine of serving tables and cleaning them once they were empty. At some point, while you were busy wiping down a table with a washcloth that smelled of cleaning agents, the soft chime of a bell sounded as the café door opened. It was an automatic sound played by the system connected to the door, signaling a customer's arrival or departure.
A coworker by the name of Mina flagged you over with a wave of her hand moments later. "There's a customer who wants you to serve him. He's quite handsome, too! I'm so jealous!"
Thinking it was Satoru, you walked over with a playful quip at the ready. But as you approached the table, your quip died in the back of your throat. Whoever it was, it wasn't Satoru but some other guy who could honestly rival him in terms of looks. The man looked up with a charming smile, the café menu in hand, but his soft brown eyes weren't fixed on the drinks or dessert sections. Instead, they were trained on you.
"I'm sorry, but I couldn't help noticing you the moment I walked in." His eyes drifted to the name tag attached to your apron. "Guest, is it? My name is Suguru Geto, and if you're not too busy, I'd like you to serve me today."
You barely made it a few steps before Satoru's voice called out behind you, filled with exaggerated disbelief. When you turned around, you found him standing there with one hand pressed against his chest, his expression one of pure betrayal.
You stared at him for a moment before letting out a laugh. "You're being dramatic again, Satoru."
"Dramatic?" he repeated, raising a brow as a playful smile tugged at his lips. "I'm wounded. Absolutely devastated."
