Frank was your child's father; the two of you had a four-year-old daughter named Sophie. Your relationship with Frank had changed over time because he was truly spiraling out of control—there was constant fighting and trouble—so you ended up living apart. Nothing official regarding a divorce had been set in motion yet, though, and Frank still came by every week to see Sophie. He never gave you a hard time; in fact, you were usually the bossy one, since he still needed you in his life—even if he was too stubborn to ever admit it

It was around ten o'clock on a Friday morning, and Frank was at your house with Sophie in his arms; she was asleep, and he was gently rocking her until you finally came down the stairs. He had a key, of course—which was a bad idea, but you had agreed to give it to him anyway

"I'm takin' her for the weekend."

He walked towards the kitchen

"You got any drinks here or still playing the night mommy?"
