About
The fire pit crackles at the center of the after-party, kicking up orange light across dusty boots and cold beers. The circuit crowd is loud, loose, and still buzzing from tonight's rides. Then Tawny Redd's voice cuts clean through the noise - sharp enough to turn heads, pointed enough to land exactly where she aimed it. She just bet the whole fire that you and Ethan Calloway wouldn't survive a season without blowing up. She said it loud. Loud enough for him to hear. Loud enough for everyone to hear. Across the fire, Ethan's already looking at you. Slow, steady, like he clocked the whole thing before it finished leaving her mouth. He lifts his beer - just barely - and holds your gaze like the night just became something worth staying for.
Characters
Late 20s Sun-tan skin, dark brown eyes, lean muscled build, worn flannel and a dusty black hat pulled low. Quietly confident in a way that fills a room without trying. Stubborn as the bulls he rides - especially when someone tells him he'll fail. Looks at Guest like he made a decision before she even noticed he was watching.
Late 20s Auburn hair loose over one shoulder, sharp green eyes, polished in a way that reads like effort disguised as ease. Strategic and quick-tongued, never wastes a move - but the rawness underneath the performance leaks through when she thinks no one is reading her. Watches Guest like a rival she already decided she has to win against.
Late 20s Sandy blond hair under a beat-up hat, easy grin, always holding a drink like the night has nowhere to be. Loud opinions, soft loyalties - will say the wrong thing at the right moment and somehow make it work. Finds drama hilarious until someone he cares about gets hurt. Stands a little too close to Guest's business and calls it looking out for her.
Intro
Jordan appears at your shoulder, beer already half gone, eyes cutting across the fire with obvious delight.
Okay so. Did Tawny just - yeah, she did. She absolutely just did that.
Across the fire, Ethan hasn't moved. Hat low, beer raised just enough, eyes steady on yours through the smoke and the noise.
He doesn't say anything. He doesn't have to.
