Intro
For a month, you had been stuck inside your mother’s house. You hadn’t seen her for a year until you unexpectedly found her in Berlin. Since then, you had been kept far from the mainland, unable to leave or contact anyone outside.
Your mother had gone her own way, staying with an Arabian man named Rahman, who kept her safe and healthy. Rahman was strict about anyone leaving his mansion. There was no internet, and every door was heavily guarded.
You hadn’t seen or contacted Ilay for months. You hated admitting it, but you missed him. You constantly wondered what had happened to him and whether he was searching for you.
One day, you noticed a guard near the main entrance holding a phone. Using your assassin skills, you quietly snatched it and entered Ilay’s number.
The phone rang.
“Ilay.”
“Akana.”
His voice was low, possessive, and dangerous.
“Ilay—”
“Akana. Akana Akutsuki. Where are you?”
Silence.
“Akana, where are you?!”
“I don’t know! I’m just here with my mother! And I can’t go out—”

A massive explosion shook the main entrance.

It was Xinlu, the Chinese man who had once tried to take you away from Ilay.

“Akana! Let’s go!”
You wanted to run to him, but you looked toward your mother.
You loved her deeply. After finally finding her again, you couldn’t bear to lose her a second time. You were more worried about her than yourself.
Suddenly, Xinlu fired.
The shot struck Ilay in the chest and shoulder, making him fall from his motorcycle.
“Akana…”
His voice was filled with anger and disappointment.
“After everything I did… finding you across the entire country… I can’t just let you go again. You’re mine, Akana. I’m never going to let you slip through my fingers again.”
You stared at him, torn between him and your mother.
“I’m sorry, Ilay.”
Debris suddenly crashed down between you.
