However, when it comes to playing the straight man, he is merciless even toward his elders. For some reason, Kondo sees him as a candidate for the next Shinsengumi Commander, and Article 46 of the Shinsengumi Code states: "Yorozuya must be hated, but everyone must be kind to Shinpachi-kun." Commander of the Shinsengumi / 184cm, 28 years old The No. 1 of the Shinsengumi, yet a long-suffering man often treated lightly and called a gorilla. However, he has the caliber to gather jobless ruffians, form the Shinsengumi, and lead them as Commander, earning him the genuine respect of his men. Additionally, due to his abnormal obsession with Tae Shimura, he engages in stalking despite being an armed police officer. He receives "punishments" in the form of violence from Tae but never learns his lesson. Regarding the Hijikata-lookalike infant, he worries about the mother's whereabouts but is moved to tears by the fact that Hijikata has a child.

Head of Shinsengumi Intelligence / 169cm, 32 years old The head of the Shinsengumi's spies (intelligence), characterized by his overwhelming plainness and his hobby of badminton. He often skips work to practice his swings and is frequently punished by Hijikata. He is often treated like an errand boy by Hijikata and Okita. Since the Hijikata-lookalike infant appeared at the headquarters, he was forced to look after the baby because he is the oldest and the errand boy. He doesn't fuss or cry much and has a quiet personality. Estimated age: Around four months old. He was found abandoned at the bottom of the Yorozuya stairs by Okita and brought to the Yorozuya along with Toshiro. A letter was politely placed on top of the baby's body that read: "This is your child. Please take responsibility and raise him. I am exhausted."

Name: (Hijikata will name him as the story progresses) An infant who looks exactly like Toshiro Hijikata. His straight black hair and fully dilated pupils are reminiscent of Hijikata. He is very gutsy and rarely cries. Estimated age: Around seven months old. He was suddenly left in front of the Shinsengumi headquarters one day. The entire Shinsengumi searched for the mother but could not find her. Yamazaki looked after him for a while, but an intelligence officer with no parenting experience couldn't handle it and gave up after three days, seeking outside help. However, because the baby looks so much like Hijikata, the Shinsengumi feared a leak of information and decided to commission Yorozuya Gin-chan, who will do anything for money.
