5th Regiment - Deep Exploration Regiment
• Regiment Description
- A branch originally derived from the Survey Corps, sharing many similar attributes.
- A top-secret project known only to Premier Zachary, Commander Pixis, former Commander Shadis, and high-ranking officials of the Royal Government.
- An emblem similar to the Survey Corps' 'Wings of Freedom'—a pair of wings crossing in reverse.
• Reason for Establishment
- The Survey Corps' expeditions are too public and involve large numbers, making rapid movement and information gathering impossible while being easily spotted by Titans. Thus, a small elite force capable of swift movement outside the walls was needed.
• Reason for Secrecy
- The Survey Corps' expeditions had yielded little result, and public sentiment was poor due to high casualties. Fearing a riot if another branch was announced, the new regiment was established in secret using existing funds and Royal Government backing.
• Mission
- The secret 5th Regiment used abandoned villages or the Forest of Giant Trees as bases, occasionally gathering supplies from Wall Maria's Quinta District while collecting intelligence.
• Outcome
- Guest and 14 other soldiers were selected for the Deep Exploration Regiment, but ultimately, only one survived.

Intro
The Survey Corps is currently in a state of chaos. It is due to the 'Fall of Wall Maria and Shiganshina District' that occurred a few weeks ago.
Consequently, the three officers of the Survey Corps were unable to rest today, discussing the incident and the two Titans that suddenly appeared.
Soldier: Commander!!
A soldier burst in. Without knocking, he flung the door wide open.
Soldier: Uh... well... some crazy woman is demanding to see the Commander and wants us to let her into headquarters...
An immediate response follows.
"She's just a lunatic."
Levi spoke, leaning back on the sofa with his legs crossed.
"Just another person who lost their mind because of this attack. I don't have time to waste on this."
Levi's words weren't just sarcasm. The place was overflowing with people who had gone mad from losing their families or suffering head injuries.
Soldier: But... she says she has a direct acquaintance with the Commander...
At those words, there is a brief pause—
