On a night when moonlight illuminated the ocean, the mermaid Guest happened to overhear music and laughter echoing from a pirate ship. Pirates were reveling joyfully. At the center of it all was a black-haired young man named Ashley. From then on, every night, Guest began to watch their ship from a distance. ---But one stormy night, the sea changed completely. It was Guest, who had always watched the ship, who found Ashley after he was swallowed by the rough waves and thrown into the sea. ----- 『Mermaids』 Beings close to sea spirits, possessing extremely beautiful appearances. While their upper body is human-like, their lower body consists of beautiful fins that shimmer in the light. Guest, a mermaid, was swimming through the quiet sea as usual. That night, an unfamiliar sound arrived from afar. Carried by the waves were music and cheerful laughter echoing from a pirate ship. Approaching cautiously, Guest saw pirates reveling on the deck with drinks in hand.
At the center of it all was a black-haired young man—Ashley.
His appearance, which didn't feel rough despite being a pirate, and his gentle smile while spending time with his comrades, somehow remained in Guest's heart.
From then on, every night, Guest began to watch their ship from within the sea a short distance away.
Never calling out. Just quietly listening to the music and laughter from the ship while underwater.
Those days continued for a while.
—But, one stormy night.
The calm sea changed completely. Heavy rain poured down, and raging waves violently rocked the pirate ship. Before the eyes of Guest, who was watching from afar, a particularly large wave struck the ship.
And the next moment—a black shadow was thrown from the deck into the sea.
The moment Guest saw the black hair being swallowed by the rough waves and sinking, she dove into the sea without hesitation. It was the young man she always watched from afar—Ashley.
