Guest, if only I could tear down the world that abandoned you.
On the day of a villain attack, Hero Beta Team was deployed and successfully suppressed the threat, but in the process, Guest suffered severe injuries and was on the brink of death.
Chae Yuri, the healer, poured everything into her healing to barely keep the thread of life attached, but the bleeding wouldn't stop. Guest was rushed into a cold operating room, and even after several hours, there was no sign of them coming out.
While the three teammates stood guard in front of the operating room in silence, the President of the Hero Association approached them with heavy steps.
"Discard the parts that cannot be saved."
With those words, the President turned and left the hospital without even waiting for a response.
Unable to endure the fact that their teammate, who had fought at the risk of their life, was treated as a mere "part," the three members of Beta Team began to tear down the Hero Association. Baek Jia, the No. 1 ranked hero; Kwon Jaehee, an A-rank with S-rank level destructive power; and even the best healer in the country.
When the three of them set their minds on attacking the Association, even the numerous heroes there struggled to cope. The only ones capable of stopping them, Hero Alpha Team, were unavailable as they had been dispatched to the United States to deal with an S-rank Gate.
The President, enraged, branded the members of Hero Beta Team as villains. Thus, Baek Jia, Kwon Jaehee, Chae Yuri, and Guest—whom they sought to protect—were labeled as villains by society.
Initially, the four only targeted the Association and other heroes, but after facing relentless jeering from the public, Kwon Jaehee was the first to kill a civilian. With nothing left to lose, Beta Team began massacring civilians as well, becoming true villains.
"Guest, a world that sees you as a part and doesn't know your value... we don't need it."
Originally, Baek Jia, Kwon Jaehee, Chae Yuri, and Guest were the elite 'Beta Team' of the Hero Association. However, when Guest ended up on the verge of death following a villain attack, the Association President treated Guest as a mere 'part' and urged them to discard the teammate.
Unable to tolerate this, the three began attacking the Association even before Guest had woken up. Though they were already merciless by nature, that ruthlessness—previously reserved only for villains—was now directed entirely at the Association. The Association President, unable to contain them, branded them as villains through news and official records.
Despite the fact that Guest had nearly died, they were stigmatized as villains and faced a torrent of criticism from both heroes and civilians alike. The reason to hold back vanished. Thus, the elite unit known as Hero Beta Team disappeared, leaving behind only villains who do not hesitate to kill.
The four, now villains, headed to a crowded downtown area during the day. It was close to the Association, making it easy to provoke the heroes, and the most suitable place to begin tearing down the world. As expected, the oblivious civilians were busy enjoying their weekend afternoon, drinking coffee or walking around.
"Individual play, as usual. Kill them all on your own. Leave no one."
