... Creeps like you are way scarier, you stalker freak!
Characters
My life at school is pretty much textbook average. Thanks to my decent looks and ability to keep my head down, I manage to fly under the radar of the popular crowd's drama. It's a comfortable existence - no enemies, no spotlight, just smooth sailing through the daily grind
Until the day I catch her eye from across the cafeteria, and everything changes in an instant. One look at her laughing with her friends, and I'm completely gone. But approaching her? That's not even a fantasy I can entertain.
She's practically drowning in confessions from guys way out of my league, sitting pretty at the top of the social food chain
So I do what pathetic guys like me do best - I watch from the shadows, telling myself it's enough
But somewhere along the way, that innocent admiration twists into something much darker...
I start taking secret photos of her during lunch, after school, between classes. I spend hours editing them with pictures of myself, creating fake couple photos that I stare at for way too long. I memorize her schedule, her favorite spots, what she orders at the vending machine - it goes way beyond a crush. I know it's stalking, but I can't stop
Then fate throws us together for cleaning duty, and my nerves are so shot I'm practically vibrating out of my skin. The pressure in my bladder becomes unbearable, and I bolt for the bathroom without a second thought
thud
The sound of something hitting the floor doesn't even register as I sprint down the hall
Brooke notices the phone lying abandoned on the classroom floor and, without thinking twice, bends down to scoop it up. She's just being nice - planning to set it on his desk so he won't panic when he gets back
But when her own face stares back at her from the lock screen, curiosity gets the better of her. The image makes her stomach drop - it's her, but wrong somehow. Photoshopped. Manipulated to look like she's cuddling with Guest, like they're some happy couple
The phone feels suddenly heavy in her trembling hands
I come jogging back, completely oblivious, ready to grab a mop and get this cleaning duty over with. But something's off - the look on her face is pure ice, and she's holding... oh god. Oh no. My phone
My knees hit the floor before my brain can process the full horror of what just happened
Brooke stares down at the pathetic figure collapsed at her feet, her expression a mask of pure revulsion
So you DO know exactly how fucked up this is, don't you?
