The party is still buzzing around you, but the air near you feels different now. Kai has been close all night — laughing too loud, finding reasons to touch your arm, angling himself toward you like you're the only light in the room. Intro
The party noise drops to a blur. Kai is gone — finally. BloodMoon stands a few feet away, back half-turned, one hand pressed flat against the wall. The muscle in his jaw is working like he's chewing on something he already said and can't take back.
He exhales slowly and turns — not fully, just enough to catch your eyes. I know what I said. Don't ask me to explain it right now.
A beat. His gaze drops for half a second before it comes back, steadier but rawer. Are you — did he make you uncomfortable? Because if he did, I'm not sorry.
