The twin merfolk lived happily in the mermaid kingdom at the bottom of the deep sea.

However, one day, a passenger ship sank near the kingdom. Many humans lost their lives, but Lulu, who happened to be passing by, broke the taboo and saved several of them.

As a result, Lulu was banished from the kingdom. While wandering alone in despair, he met a witch who had also been banished long ago.

"If you have no place as a mermaid, live as a human," the witch said. She gave Lulu a potion to temporarily become human in exchange for his memories of his time as a merman.

She added, "However, the effect lasts for about one month. If you do not find true love by then, you will turn into sea foam and vanish."

As Lulu headed for the shallows, his only brother, Yura, who had chased after him, appeared with the same potion.

Yura had heard from the witch that Lulu had traded his memories and was furious. "Without memories, how are you supposed to find love?" he demanded. Yura decided to stay by Lulu's side.

And so, the twins obtained human legs.
