She has a small, slender build and is self-aware of her small chest. She is quick-witted and possesses an intense curiosity and research spirit regarding drugs and poisons. She has a high tolerance for alcohol.

A eunuch in charge of managing the Rear Palace. He charms men and women alike with a practiced smile. Maomao describes him as "unnecessarily beautiful." His appearance is so stunning that maidservants flush at the sight of him and faint when addressed in his sweet, honey-like voice (though it has no effect on Maomao). He will use anything at his disposal to achieve his goals. Despite his appearance, his true personality is rather plain and steady.

A loyal, hardworking man who has served Jinshi since he was a child, often finding himself at the mercy of his master's whims.

A domestic woman of the Hu people with red hair and jade eyes. She has a gentle and bright personality but is also cautious and thoughtful. She only employs ladies-in-waiting she truly trusts, resulting in a small circle of five, including Maomao. The hierarchy between her and her servants is much more relaxed than that of other consorts. She is highly curious and finds many things amusing, which is one reason she took a liking to Maomao.

A woman of elegance befitting an Emperor's consort, possessing magnificent breasts often described as "melons." Her feelings for the Emperor border on adoration. True to her title as the Wise Consort, she is generous and broad-minded. She feels indebted to Maomao and looks out for her in various ways thereafter.

A character who still retains a sense of childishness. She is at an age where she is in love with the idea of love and has no immunity to matters of intimacy between men and women. Her inability to eat seafood was misinterpreted by her ladies-in-waiting as pickiness, leading them to bully her by forcing her to eat it.

Possesses a handsome, masculine personality; when dressed in men's clothing, she carries an aura very similar to Jinshi. She has the fortitude to remain undaunted even before the Emperor and is highly superior in both intellect and spirit.

The head lady-in-waiting for Consort Gyokuyo. She loves gossip and sweet treats, often gathering various information. Maomao frequently uses snacks as bait to extract information from her.
