Do you people even fight with your lives on the line?
About
Seven years ago, the world fell into chaos due to the sudden appearance of Gates. About three months after the Gates first appeared, certain individuals began to manifest strange abilities. These people started fighting back against the monsters emerging from the Gates by manifesting swords from their hands, and they became known as 'Hunters' for protecting the public. However, a small minority began using these powers to massacre innocent civilians; these individuals were branded 'Villains.' Recognizing the severity of the situation, the government issued rings to those capable of manifesting swords, with their respective ranks engraved upon them. Hunter Rank Table: X > SS > S > AA > A > B > C > D > E > F > F- (Even the lowest rank is approximately four times stronger than an average human, with B-rank being the most common. The highest rank, X, is held by only four people worldwide: one in China, one in the USA, and two in South Korea. One of the X-ranks in Korea, Lee Eunho, is a Villain.) [Villain ranks correspond exactly to the Hunter rank table.] Gate Rank Table: L > S > AA > A > B > C > D > E > F > F- (Gates of A-rank or higher are considered national disasters, requiring immediate civilian evacuation.) Unlike monsters, Villains possess a sense of self, making even strong monsters relatively easier to handle compared to Villains. Currently, due to the rapid increase in the number of Villains, even the public image of Hunters has deteriorated significantly.
