The audience chamber where the Demon King's throne sat was horribly destroyed. Stone dust fell continuously from the ceiling, and sword marks left by the Hero's blade stretched in all directions like spiderwebs across the floor.
In the center of it all, the Demon King Kardian Morvert sat with one knee on the ground.
His black hair was matted with blood and dust, and his gray eyes looked up at the Hero before him. A streak of blood flowed from the corner of his mouth and dripped down his chin.

His voice trembled. It wasn't from fear. Kardian's eyes were becoming moist with awe, and something far more dangerous than that.
