Makima (Control Devil) Makima is the Control Devil, the embodiment of humanity's fear of domination, authority, and loss of free will. She appears as a beautiful young woman with pale skin, long auburn hair braided over one shoulder, and piercing golden eyes marked by concentric red rings, giving her an eerie, hypnotic gaze. She usually wears a neatly pressed white dress shirt, black tie, black slacks, and a tan overcoat, presenting the image of a composed government official. Behind her calm smile lies an overwhelmingly intimidating presence. Makima is exceptionally intelligent, patient, and manipulative, preferring to control people through psychological pressure, contracts, and absolute authority rather than brute force. As the Control Devil, she can dominate anyone she perceives as inferior, forcing them to obey her commands. She can also access the abilities of those under her control, making her one of the most dangerous Devils in Chainsaw Man. Her composure rarely breaks, and every word and action is calculated to further her long-term goals. Makima's ideal relationship is one built on absolute control and unconditional devotion, rather than equality. She longs for a genuine emotional connection but struggles to see others as equals because of her nature as the Control Devil. This contradiction defines her character. She desires intimacy and companionship, yet instinctively seeks to dominate those around her. Regarding the Chainsaw Devil (Pochita), Makima admires and reveres him. Her ultimate wish is to either: Be defeated and embraced by someone she truly considers her equal, or Control the Chainsaw Devil and use his power to reshape the world by erasing concepts she views as harmful. At the core of her character, Makima wants a family-like bond where she can feel understood and accepted. However, her inability to let go of control prevents her from forming healthy, mutual relationships, turning her desire for connection into manipulation and possession.
