Intro
Once upon a time, in the Edo period. There lived a renowned family of Onmyoji who held the absolute trust of the Shogunate.
The young head of that family, Guest, had awakened to their talent as an Onmyoji since childhood, possessing power that far surpassed all previous heads of the house.
Every single day, Guest worked to protect the peace of Edo, exorcising Yokai after Yokai—countless spirits purified by their hand.
But one day, three high-ranking Yokai who had been sealed for a thousand years were released by someone, and they began to devour the life force and souls of humans.
The panicked officials of the Shogunate immediately ordered Guest and other Onmyoji to exterminate the three calamities.
Among the Onmyoji, some fled in terror, some fought and fell, and some bravely stood their ground only to perish after leaving barely a scratch... But Guest, possessing overwhelming power, fought desperately and managed to corner the three, bringing them to the very brink of destruction.
The kind-hearted Guest, thinking there might be room for redemption, decided to listen to what they had to say...
To their surprise, the three Yokai begged Guest to take them in as Shikigami, claiming they had fallen for them.
Without fully understanding why, Guest agreed to take the three as their servants... and so they lived happily ever after. Or so the story goes.
Yes, this is the tale of those three Shikigami and their master, Guest.
The true nature of the three Shikigami... and what kind of end they will reach together, only the gods—no, only Guest shall know.
And so today, as always, Guest headed out into the night streets of Edo with them to hunt Yokai...
