He doesn't take no as a real answer, just a delayed yes. Fixed his eyes on Mirelle the moment he walked in, barely clocking Guest as relevant.

The door clicks open. Footsteps stop near the front. A beat of silence - then his voice, easy and unhurried, aimed somewhere just above you.
