About

【Academy Details】 Allegren Academy, located in the Kingdom of Albaha, is the world's most prestigious educational institution. It boasts the highest global standards in magic, sorcery, martial arts, academics, and research; admission is said to guarantee future success. The total student body is approximately 1,800, with 300 new students admitted annually. It houses a Middle School (ages 12–15) and a High School (ages 15–18). As there is no university system in this world, graduating from the High School represents the highest level of education. 【Worldview】 Magic and sorcery exist in this world, inhabited by humans as well as demi-humans such as beastmen, demons, and elves. While physical abilities and mana characteristics vary by race, Allegren Academy generally has no admission restrictions based on race. 【Magic】 Magic refers to techniques consisting of the four elements—Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth—that anyone can use. It is activated by consuming mana, and basic education begins in elementary school. Those who can only handle magic are called 【Mages】. 【Sorcery】 Sorcery refers to unique innate abilities activated through special formulas engraved on the body from birth. It manifests in approximately one out of every 5,000 people and cannot be acquired later in life. It generally has a higher output than magic, and many abilities do not belong to the four elements. Sorcerers are highly valued socially due to their rarity and immense power. Furthermore, the types of sorcery that manifest tend to vary by region. 【Sorcery Types】 【Material Type】 Creating or manipulating specific substances. 【Elemental Type】 Generating and manipulating elements such as fire, lightning, water, earth, or plants. 【Enhancement Type】 Strengthening the abilities of oneself, allies, or weapons. 【Medical Type】 Treating and recovering the physical body. 【Conceptual Type】 Interfering with specific concepts, such as physical phenomena or existence itself. 【Emission Type】 Converting mana into beams, shockwaves, or explosions to be fired. 【Ability Type】 Special abilities that do not fall into the above categories. 【Sages】 Normally, a sorcerer possesses only one formula. However, in extremely rare cases, individuals with two or more formulas exist, and they are called 【Sages】. Because they can combine multiple sorceries, they often possess combat power and versatility that are incomparable to general sorcerers. 【Distinguishing Mages, Sorcerers, and Sages】 Sorcery formulas are engraved as patterns on the back. A person is identified as a 【Mage】 if no formula exists, a 【Sorcerer】 if there is one, and a 【Sage】 if there are two or more. Since these patterns exist from birth, forgery is extremely difficult. 【The Cursed】 In this world, basically all humans possess mana, but approximately one in 30,000 is born completely devoid of it. They are called the 【Cursed】. In exchange for having no mana, they tend to have abnormally high physical abilities and senses. However, they face strong prejudice and discrimination from those with mana and are often treated as the lowest class of society. 【Ranks】 Strength is evaluated in the order of 【X > S > A > B > C > D > E > F】. 【X】 Outlier. Capable of causing world-scale disasters single-handedly. 【S】 Monster-class, appearing once in a century. Capable of destroying a nation alone. 【A】 Comprised of many powerful sorcerers and sages, possessing enough skill to destroy a city alone. 【B】 Mostly sorcerers, equivalent to military elites. Many skilled individuals plateau in this range, so individual differences are large. 【C】 The range reached by excellent mages or average sorcerers. 【D】 Mostly veteran mages or general soldiers. 【E】 Mostly general mages; the majority of the population belongs to this rank. 【F】 Mostly the Cursed, including those with no combat ability. This rank is frequently the target of social discrimination. 【School Buildings】 The center of the academy features a massive Main Building, housing Middle and High School classrooms, faculty offices, lecture halls, and research labs. The building itself is embedded with sorcery formulas, automatically deploying defensive barriers in the event of fire, earthquakes, or magical accidents. 【Magic Research Wing】 A facility for researching the four elemental magics: Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. Dedicated laboratories exist for each attribute, equipped with magical targets for power measurement and mana measurement devices. High-strength defensive formulas are engraved on the walls and floors so that everyone from beginners to advanced users can train safely. 【Sorcery Research Wing】 A specialized facility for researching innate sorcery. It contains equipment to analyze a sorcerer's own formula and devices to measure output, range, and mana consumption. Since sorcery varies greatly between individuals, the research wing provides experimental sections for Material, Elemental, Enhancement, Medical, Conceptual, Emission, and Ability types. 【Grand Training Ground】 The academy's largest training facility. Centered around a massive circular field, it includes spectator seating, observation towers, and medical rooms. Inside is a sorcery device that reproduces terrain, allowing for practical training in various environments such as forests, wastelands, urban areas, and water. A special barrier capable of withstanding powerful magic and sorcery prevents damage to the outside. 【Duel Arena】 A facility used for mock battles between students and magic exams. To prevent fatal injuries during combat, a barrier forcibly intervenes and stops the fight if life signs drop below a certain level. Exams to determine the academy's strength rankings are also held here. 【Library】 A massive library housing over hundreds of thousands of volumes. It contains materials on all fields, including magic theory, sorcery research, history, alchemy, medicine, politics, and tactics. The top floor contains a Forbidden Archive inaccessible to general students, where dangerous sorcery and historically sealed research materials are kept. 【Medical Wing】 A dedicated medical facility staffed by medical sorcerers and doctors. It can handle not only normal injuries but also mana depletion, sorcery-induced wounds, and ritualistic abnormalities. There are also advanced treatment rooms for the severely injured. 【Dormitories】 Student dormitories are separated by gender and grade, and students basically live within the academy grounds. Each room is equipped with a simple mana control device to suppress runaway magic. The cafeteria provides nutritionally managed meals.
