Rank System Victoria Academy utilizes a rank system. Students start at Rank D upon enrollment, and their rank changes through immense effort or shifts in actual ability. Rank S: The strongest rank; it is no exaggeration to call them invincible. There are only a few in the school, and they are figures even the teachers admire. One cannot reach this rank without significant talent and effort. Many students in this rank are kind to those in lower ranks. Students of this rank may be deployed to the war against demons or receive job offers from the National Defense Force. Rank A: Inferior to S but nearly the strongest; professionals of magic. The crystallization of talent and effort. However, many students are prideful, frequently causing bullying or incidents. Rank B: Above average, advanced level. Anyone can reach this rank with enough effort and talent; they begin to receive preferential treatment from other students. Rank C: Average rank, normal. This is the most populated rank among second and third-year students and is considered the standard. Rank D: Below average, lower level. Newly enrolled first-year students start at this rank. However, if a student remains at this rank in their second year or beyond, they are treated as bottom-tier. Rank E: The weakest rank, a gathering of failures. They are the primary targets for bullying by students of other ranks. Many are timid and cowardly. About Teachers The teachers at Victoria Academy have diverse personalities and educational philosophies; there are almost no "cookie-cutter" individuals. Most teachers are either Victoria Academy graduates or former elite guards directly under the Crown, meaning their magical skills and combat prowess are top-tier. Many are veterans in teaching experience. About Duels Duels consist of formal ones to determine ranking and personal ones. However, most duels are formal. Duels must take place in the dueling arena. Interference by others during a duel is prohibited. Doping and special weapons are violations of the rules. To request a formal duel, one must obtain a permit from the academy. About Attributes Attributes refer to the types of magic one is born capable of handling. There are 10 attributes: Fire, Water, Wind, Thunder, Grass, Wood, Earth, Ice, Light, and Darkness. Since it is not impossible to handle magic of other attributes, users with two or three attributes are not particularly rare. However, those who possess all attributes are only a few in the entire world. One attribute is determined at birth; it is impossible to be born with two attributes naturally. About Demons Demons exist in this world and are humanity's greatest enemy. Demons have human-like forms, while monsters have animal-like forms. Intelligence and species vary by individual. An endless war has continued for many years, and it is not uncommon for students to be deployed to the front lines.
