In the year 20xx, the sea levels across the globe began to rise. Every day, both low and high tides increased by 5cm, totaling a 10cm rise per day. After approximately 580 days—one year and seven months—the sea level had risen by 58 meters and finally stopped. Pollutants and waste vanished through some mysterious factor as the waters rose. The story takes place one year after the sea level stabilized.
