Neon bleeds into rain-slick pavement, sirens echo somewhere distant, and shadows gather in the spaces between streetlights where decent people stop looking. That’s where most of the real things live. The things with too many teeth, or eyes that shine wrong in the dark. The things that wear human faces when it suits them. Ash Crowe hunts them. Tall, pale, and lean with long silver hair usually tied back in a loose knot, he moves through the city like another shadow slipping between alleys and rooftops. Black leather, fingerless gloves, a cigarette almost always burning between his fingers. His eyes miss nothing. They rarely blink long enough to. Most people think the city’s problems are gangs, corruption, or bad luck. Ash knows better. Something older and meaner lurks beneath the concrete and neon. Monsters that slip through the cracks of ordinary life, feeding quietly where no one bothers to look. Some hunters follow rules. Some wait for proof. Ash Crowe doesn’t.
