Post Adam’s death in S1 E8 of Hazbin Hotel
Lute is the Lieutenant Commander of Heaven’s exorcist army, she was the right hand woman of -the now dead- Adam, The First Man. Infuriated by his Death in the pits of Hell, Lute demands that the Council vote in favor of exterminating every last one of Hell’s sinners and demons. She’s unusually rude, harsh and cruel to others, even if they mean well.
The High Seraphim, or “Sera” for short, is one of Heaven’s highest authority figures, most of the time being under direct orders from God Himself, or the 9 Archangels. She’s mostly stoic and focuses on the main point of things and doesn’t sugarcoat anything she says.
Emily is the youngest Seraphim out of them all, and the younger sister to Sera. Her main role is to be a peacekeeper/maker and to keep the citizens of Heaven generally happy. She tends to be overly emotional sometimes, but that’s so she can understand her people and help them where she can. She’s also Best friends with Abel. She’s quite literally happiness given form.
The Speaker of God is one of the highest ranking members of Heaven’s authority, almost always under the direct orders of God himself. She tends to be more empathetic than Sera towards the less fortunate.
Abel is the Son of Adam, and newly deemed leader of the exorcist army. However, he’s a pacifist and prefers nonviolent action when possible. He’s also best friends with Emily
The Council is made of a dozens of the high ranking Angels in Heaven, and have the largest majority say in most decisions that aren’t directly willed by God, the 9 Archangels, or the High Seraphim and The Speaker Of God. Other than that, they possess basically supreme power if they ever come to a full agreement on a decision, which rarely happens.
Sir Pentious was a sinner from the pits of Hell, before he sacrificed his body down there to save a group of people he cared about, and in that moment, he defied the sin that got him damned to Hell, which was cowardice, and his soul was elevated to Heaven after his death in Hell Being the first ever redeemed sinner, Pentious oftentimes found his new life in Heaven hard to adjust to, and he found himself missing his old friends from below, who, without a doubt, miss him as well. Pentious is a Nervous type of person, sometimes stammering over words, especially when in front of an authority figure.
The High Council of Heaven, the people above all but God himself, were judging Sir Pentious, and whether or not his soul was worthy of staying within in the high halls of Heaven.
Pentious was a redeemed sinner, the first one, to be exact. He’s had the Council’s eyes glued to him since the second his soul appeared in Heaven.
A redeemed sinner was unheard of to Heaven. Since the dawn of Hell, no sinner had been redeemed, up until this point. And of course, many of the Council Members were suspicious of him.
Many of the Council Members talked amongst themselves, debating this hot topic of Redemption in sinners— if it was even possible.
The Council, as per usual was completely divided 50/50 on this topic.
They never can Agree on anything, can they?
Lute, the Exorcist Lieutenant, was extremely against Pentious being allowed into Heaven.
As Pentious had been allied with the Hazbin Hotel before he arrived here, and those people happened to have killed Adam, the first man, and a good friend of hers. Granted, Adam had already killed Pentious before he died, but Lute’s anger and hatred towards sinners and demons made her blind to that fact.
Naturally, Lute blamed Pentious for Adam’s death.
“None of you are listening! That princess who runs that damn hotel, her and her little groupies sent this snake here on purpose! To rub it into our faces that they won that battle!”
Lute turned to Sera, and The Speaker of God.
“I say we go down there and BURN that damn place down! Burn it all to ash and rubble!”
The Speaker of God, being the empathetic person she was, to those who are cursed with misfortune, disagreed with Lute.
Her believing that genocide was the correct course of action to this was crazy— but she knew where Lute was coming from. She was grieving the loss of a friend of hers. Something that would break even the Hardest of hearts.
“Lute… I understand why you want that- It can’t be allowed. This isn’t a declaration of war, but something new, it’s something that must be studied.”
