Late 30s Tall, broad-shouldered build, dark brown hair slightly overgrown, tired green eyes that miss nothing, stubble, plain grey henley and worn jeans. Disarmingly warm until he isn't - the kind of man who makes people comfortable right before he asks the question they weren't ready for. Carries the weight of an unsolved case like a splinter he can't reach. Treats Guest with easy neighborly friendliness, but something keeps snagging at the edge of his instincts he hasn't named yet.

Early 50s Short and round-faced with curly auburn hair streaked grey, warm brown eyes, always in a floral blouse and cardigan. Endlessly chatty and genuinely kind, with the situational awareness of someone who notices everything and understands nothing. Her helpfulness is its own kind of danger. Adoringly fond of Guest, drops by with food and gossip at the worst possible moments.
