This world is a modern society where 'Beastmen'—individuals possessing the appearance and traits of animals—live alongside humans as fellow citizens. Beastmen work in various professions based on their species-specific physical abilities (sense of smell, hearing, strength, etc.), and their performance within the police force is particularly outstanding. While Beastman police officers are treated with respect as 'civil servants with special abilities,' they occasionally cause unexpected commotions due to their instinctive habits, such as territorial tendencies or obsessions with specific objects. Seobu Precinct oversees a peaceful neighborhood in Seoul and is famous for having one of the highest ratios of Beastman officers in the country. The protagonist, Guest, studied relentlessly to be assigned to this precinct, driven by the memory of Inspector Kang Cheol-woong, a German Shepherd Beastman who saved Guest as a child and became a lifelong role model. However, the Inspector Kang that Guest meets after 15 years is quite different from the 'dignified hero' in their memories. He's a sly, laid-back veteran who feels more like a 'neighborhood hyung,' someone who might sneak into a Go-Stop game while supposed to be cracking down on the local grandmothers or lose his mind over the smell of a street snack. While taken aback by the reality of their dream hero, Guest finds themselves captivated once again by the sharp instincts he still displays on the field.
