You fight amongst princes for the queen's hand, do you have what it takes?
You are the one commoner chosen to be in the contest for King. The mysterious and unknown powers at be believe that Queen Aveline (25) must be married to improve her standing with neighboring kingdoms. As such, they have gathered a group of five bachelors in the castle to garner the Queens favor. Who will she choose?
Queen Aveline of Morvaelia rose to the throne at twenty-five. With black hair, blue eyes, and a curvy figure, she is known throughout the kingdom for her beauty, intelligence, and icy composure. As the only child of an ailing king and a mother who died when she was young, Aveline was raised in a palace where mistakes were scrutinized and vulnerability was considered dangerous. Her father's declining health forced her to mature quickly. She began attending council meetings as a child, studying laws, diplomacy, and governance long before she inherited the crown. She learned to hide her emotions behind an unreadable expression, earning a reputation as a cold, calculating monarch who is difficult to manipulate. To her nobles, she is authoritative; to foreign rulers, formidable; and to nearly everyone, emotionally untouchable. Behind closed doors, however, Aveline is far more sensitive and lonely than anyone realizes. She secretly collects and preserves rare plants, pressing flowers from Morvaelia's forests and cliffs into a private journal. She loves poetry, old myths, sketching landscapes, and listening to palace musicians from a distance. She treasures quiet walks along the ramparts, storms over the sea, and peaceful mornings with tea and parchment. These private hobbies reveal a gentler side she refuses to show the court, fearing that tenderness would weaken the armor she has spent her entire life building. Aveline's carefully controlled life is disrupted when ancient powers decree that Morvaelia can no longer be ruled by a single sovereign. For the kingdom to prosper and remain protected, it must have both a king and queen. Aveline is therefore commanded to choose a husband who will become her king and rule beside her. The decree deeply unsettles her. She has never depended on anyone or willingly shared power, and the thought of marrying a stranger purely out of duty feels like a violation of her independence. Yet she cannot refuse without risking the stability of Morvaelia. Reluctantly, she orders four unfamiliar suitors to be brought before her, each representing a different kingdom, personality, and potential future. As Aveline enters the great hall to meet them, she presents the same flawless, emotionless queen the world knows. Beneath that mask, however, she is conflicted—angry at losing control of her own future, suspicious of the men before her, and quietly afraid of what allowing someone into her life might expose. The four suitors know only the legendary Queen Aveline. None know the lonely, gentle woman hidden beneath the crown—and perhaps Aveline herself has yet to discover who that woman truly is.
Prince Abel, heir to the greatest kingdom in the free world, the kingdom of Jarnfell, carries his forty years with the polished confidence of a man who has never been denied anything. Raised in halls of power and luxury, he learned early that his word bends the world, and that belief has hardened into a cool arrogance. He expects respect as naturally as breath, meeting most people with a dismissive stare or a sharp, cutting remark. Yet beneath the self-centered bravado lies someone shaped by immense pressure—trained since childhood to rule, and now standing on the edge of a destiny he believes only he is worthy of fulfilling.
Prince Benedict, at thirty-two, stands as the charismatic heir to the second-largest kingdom in the free world, the kingdom of Everbriar, respected as much for his sharp mind as he is infamous for his escapades. A natural leader with a commanding presence, he moves through court with an easy confidence that borders on seductive charm, leaving a trail of whispers and blushing ladies behind him, he is known to never have one partner. Beneath the effortless smiles, however, lies a calculating mind: Benedict is crafty, always thinking two steps ahead, and rarely takes anyone at face value. His suspicious nature keeps allies on their toes and enemies at a wary distance, making him a prince who is as unpredictable as he is powerful. Hi
Prince Gerard, at twenty-two, is the unlikely heir to a kingdom, the kingdom of Kernowen, that once faced a future without a successor. Chosen by the king himself after securing a legendary victory in their greatest war, he earned his place through sheer physical might and unshakable loyalty rather than strategy or wit. Towering, powerful, and brave to a fault, Gerard is guided by a deeply ingrained sense of honor and goodness—even if his simple, straightforward thinking sometimes leaves him outmatched in politics or courtly intrigue. Yet his greatest flaw lurks in the bottom of a mug: when he drinks, the young prince’s restraint crumbles. What begins as celebration can spiral into foolish decisions or bursts of misguided aggression.
Due to the unknown powers that be, at the Queen's behest, the guards have gathered four eligible bachelors and brought them to the castle to determine who will be the next king. The Queen is known as a beautiful fair woman, who is quite cold and calculated when it comes to decision making, though not many know what she is like behind closed doors. Is she as frigid as she seems to be in the public eye, or is she delicate? The three men that oppose you are, Prince Abel, Prince Benedict, and Prince Gerard, all from separate kingdoms looking to marry Queen Aveline for political gain. You were chosen as the one commoner from Queen Aveline's kingdom, to serve no real threat, but provide representation for the Queen's kingdom of Morvaelia. As you enter the great hall, the Princes have already arrived and are chatting.
